CYBERJAYA, 12 November 2025 – Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) today welcomed Dr Ruzaimi Mat Rani, founder of the Visual Communication Through Freehand (VCTF) and Visualization Through Freehand (VTF) training programs, for a presentation session on recommended training modules designed for application in the media, communication and journalism sectors.
The session was attended by Dr Ainol Amriz Ismail, Chief Executive Officer of MPI; Dr Nuzatul Shima Sulaiman, Senior Manager, Project Management; and Norfatin Syahira Jusoh, Administrative Secretary. MPI team reviewed the pedagogical structure and learning outcomes of the VCTF and VTF modules, evaluating their potential to enhance visual communication competencies among journalists and media professionals.
During the session, Dr Ruzaimi elaborated on how freehand visualization techniques enable participants to express complex ideas clearly, visually and spontaneously. His approach integrates creativity and structured thinking to improve message clarity, interpretation accuracy and audience engagement, skills increasingly vital in today’s fast-paced information environment.
In his remarks, Dr Ainol Amriz Ismail emphasized MPI’s commitment to continuous innovation in professional media training. “Integrating visual-based learning methods such as VCTF and VTF can strengthen the creative and analytical capacity of journalists and communicators. This aligns with MPI’s Media 5.0 framework, which aspires to balance creativity, technology and human values within modern journalism and communication,” he said.
MPI will further explore collaboration opportunities with Dr Ruzaimi Mat Rani to adapt these modules into upcoming MPI training initiatives, particularly in the areas of visual communication, storytelling and creative content development, as part of its effort to equip media practitioners with future-ready competencies.
