KUALA LUMPUR: A prominent scholar said Malaysian media must be able to challenge Western narratives and report from local perspectives with historical context.
International Islamic University Malaysia’s Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation professor Datuk Dr Ahmad Murad Merican said yesterday the media must move beyond passively adopting dominant Western frames, which continue to shape how global events are understood.
