MELAKA, Aug. 4 – A total of 31 journalists and media personnel from Melaka Hari Ini (MHI) are taking part in a two-day AI-Generated Digital Content workshop designed to strengthen newsroom capabilities in producing high-quality multimedia content using generative artificial intelligence.
Held under the Media Innovation Fund initiative, the workshop equips participants with practical skills in AI prompt engineering, AI-generated posters, motion posters, videos, music generation and digital storytelling to meet the growing demands of modern, multi-platform journalism.
The training is led by Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ainol Amriz Ismail, together with MPI Head of Social Media Ibrahim Darman, who are introducing participants to AI-powered content creation workflows while reinforcing the importance of editorial standards, accuracy and public trust.
Over two days, participants will learn how to transform a single news story into multiple digital formats by using AI to generate visuals, animations, music, voice elements and short-form videos without compromising journalistic values. The programme also highlights the importance of combining technological innovation with human editorial judgement to produce content that is accurate, engaging and relevant.
Dr. Ainol said AI is reshaping the way newsrooms produce content, making it essential for journalists to master emerging technologies while preserving the core principles of journalism.
He added that journalists today must be able to produce content across multiple platforms, integrating text, visuals, animation, audio and video into a single, compelling story that meets the expectations of digital audiences.
Also present was Melaka Hari Ini Chief Executive Officer Haji Nasharuddin Muhammad, who reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to strengthening the digital capabilities of its newsroom through continuous professional development and innovation.
The workshop reflects the Media Innovation Fund’s ongoing commitment to equipping Malaysian journalists with future-ready digital skills, enabling news organisations to embrace AI responsibly while continuing to deliver trusted, high-quality journalism.
