PUTRAJAYA, June 15 – Deputy Communications Minister, YB Puan Teo Nie Ching, will officiate the forum Balancing Virality and Responsibility: Journalism Amid Speed, Trust and Impact at The Zenith Hotel, Putrajaya today.
The forum, organised by the Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) with the support of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Department of Information Malaysia, aims to discuss the challenges facing journalism in the digital era, particularly in balancing the demand for speed in news reporting with responsibility, ethics and public trust in the media.
The two-day programme, taking place today and 16 June 2026, brings together approximately 120 participants comprising editors-in-chief, senior editors, journalists, media practitioners, corporate communication officers, government agency representatives and academics. The forum serves as a platform to exchange views, share experiences and explore practical approaches towards strengthening ethical journalism, responsible reporting and media credibility in an increasingly complex and fast-moving information environment. #mpicommit
