The two-day forum Balancing Virality and Responsibility: Journalism Amid Speed, Trust and Impact concluded with a dialogue session titled “Industry’s Resolution” featuring Malaysian Press Institute (MPI) Chairman, Datuk Yong Soo Heong, who shared reflections and aspirations for strengthening journalism standards, safeguarding public trust and ensuring the continued relevance of the media industry in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
The forum came to a close with closing remarks by Prof. Dr. Mohamad Salmi, Commission Member of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), marking the end of two days of insightful discussions involving editors, journalists, academics and industry experts. MPI hopes that the exchange of ideas and perspectives throughout the forum will contribute positively to Malaysia’s media fraternity, fostering a more responsible, credible and resilient journalism ecosystem in the face of evolving digital challenges.
