KJA 2024 Terms and Conditions

KUCHING, 31 August 2024: The Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2024 will be held in Kuching on December 14, 2024, organised by the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA).

Professional journalists, editors, photographers, cameramen, and producers residing in Sarawak and who are permanently and/or contractually employed by mass media organisations in Sarawak registered under Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia are invited to submit entries for the Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2024.

Only active members of KDJA, Sibu Journalists Association (SJA), Institute of Rejang Journalists (IRJ) and Northern Sarawak Journalists Association (NSJA) can compete in the Kenyalang Journalism Awards 2024 (active members referring to renewed membership for the year 2024).

Only works published between 1st September 2023 to 30th September 2024 are eligible to be submit.

Their works must have been published in any of the main languages – Bahasa Melayu, English, Chinese and Bahasa Iban- and must be on events or happenings in Sarawak.

In the case of entries submitted by participants from broadcast media, such entries must have been aired.

A participant may submit a maximum of four entries in total for the entire Awards, inclusive of both individual and team entries.

  • C09 Photo Essay Award
  • C10 Digital Economy Journalism Award
